Paris, the city of light, La Ville Lumiere, is known for its rich architectural heritage and the originators of some iconic brands, such as Dior and Christian Louboutin.
Being the world’s fashion capital, Paris sets the fashion tone for everyone else to follow. Living there inspires people to pay attention to what they wear, hence creating the Parisian Street Style. The fashionistas focus on creating a vibrant and top-notch street style that’s unforgettable and charming.
Let’s take a look at some of the popular trends in fashion inspired by Paris Street Style over the past three years:
The year started off with the use of bold floral prints and bold colors for summers. Dresses with huge flower prints and using popping shades of coral or magenta were noticed amongst many street stylers. Combining the two was a BIG no since the key to this trend was following the ‘less is more’ technique.
After the bold and floral summers, came the trend to style oversized blazers. Whether it was a day at work or a casual lunch with the girls, women and men were spotted pulling off oversized blazers with neutral underclothing.
With the oversized blazers, the key was to focus on the blazer by pairing it with mom-style jeans and tee shirts, mini shorts and basic button-down tops, or black/grey tone skirts.
Throughout the year, we loved seeing some glimmer and glamour on the streets with all-over sequin dresses. From matching separates to mini and ankle-length bodycon dresses, street stylers enjoy pairing sequin dresses with basic blazers and overcoats.
2021 begun with Paris Street Stylers displaying their love for plaid. While plaid has never really gotten ‘out of fashion due to its classic look’, 2021 was about styling plaid in a hundred ways.
Our favorite has to be the plaid matching separates consisting of bandeau tops and midi-length skirts paired with full-length trench coats – aussi bon qu’un baiser (French for ‘as good as a kiss’).
If you like to stay in on the latest fashion trends, not knowing about double denim is nothing less than a crime. The double denim trend has us gasping for air over how chic denim over denim can look – flabbergasted.
Whether it’s about pairing the same colored denim or two different shades of the same color, we love the final looks paired with minimalist accessories.
So far, 2021 has been dazzling for us with some notable and popular trends in fashion. Stay tuned as Detroit Hype brings the latest trends for winter to end your year as the fashionista that you are!
