Getting your hands on limited-edition sneaker collaborations is quite challenging as they sell out within minutes. If you don’t keep an eye out for popular sneakers and their release dates, you’ll find it difficult to acquire limited-edition pieces.
Avoid missing out on the best sneaker collaborations by keeping yourself up to date with upcoming sneaker releases in 2021. We’ve compiled a list of all the sneaker collaborations you should watch out for this year.
1. BAPE x Adidas Superstar
BAPE and Adidas have collaborated yet again, and this time it’s for the 50th anniversary of the Superstar Sneakers. It introduces the third colorway to the previous editions of the sneaker model while continuing with the camouflage theme. The brands call it the Green Camo version.
The branding of the two is done on the upper sides of each pair. One showcases the Adidas stripes, whereas the other has a shooting star placement.
2. UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Force 1 ‘Ballistic’
UNDEFEATED and Nike have paired up to create an exceptional sneaker design. This collaboration is influenced by the UNDEFEATED’s Ballistic sneakers as they follow through with the same colorway.
The new collaboration is a mix of 2003’s Dunk High Ballistic and Nike’s Bring Back 2003 pack that features olive green Ballistic mesh and leather upper. The co-branding can be seen on the upper of the sneakers as it features the Nike logo and the UNDEFEATED five-strikes logo.
3. Rick Owens x Converse
The latest is the Rick Owens and Converse collaboration. Since square-toe footwear is quite popular at the moment, Rick Owens has taken things a step further. The collaboration introduces squared-off converse that everyone’s been waiting for.
It takes the classic converse to a whole new level with the elongated tongue, square shape, and black and white colorways. The shoe’s release date’s coming up, and many, including celebrities, can’t wait to get their hands on this pair.
4. Bodega x New Balance 990v3
Bodega and New Balance continue their long-standing collaboration by adding a new sneaker model to the list. The brands celebrate the 15th anniversary of Bodega with this new model as it comprises all the elements that fit Bodega’s aesthetic.
It’s made using pig suede overlays and mesh underlays to provide comfort and style. The sneakers also feature a small embroidery that depicts how long Bodega has been in the industry. The left shoe has 2006 embroidered on the heel, whereas the right shoe has 2021.
