The voice behind Cherry and Lights Up resounded through the venue at the 2021’s Grammys with a soulful performance of his big hit, Watermelon Sugar. Yes, we’re talking about none other than the British music artist Harry Styles. The ex-One Direction singer decided to chart a solo path for his music career when he separated from the band. But the individualism served Styles well because if there’s one person who could waltz into the ceremony as a declared winner from the start, it’s him.
Harry Styles: Singer, Actor, and Artist at the Grammys
But his music is not all that the fans binged on throughout the Grammys this year. The artist, who made his debut in cinema in the blockbuster movie Dunkirk, definitely knows a thing or two about putting up a show with a glamorous outfit. Following Alessandro Michele’s creative guidance along with a personal touch to his OOTD was the best decision Harry Styles could make. The Gucci creative director gave Styles a look to be remembered for months after the event!
The Double Treat
The singer had not one but two outfits ready for the ceremony. Landing on the red carpet in a mediocre standard-issue menswear is not Styles’ style. Colorful like his music, his first look was as arresting as it could ever be. Dressed in a tweed jacket and tartan sweater with a lavender boa draped around him, the artist wore his aesthetic boldness like a medal. Not everyone could pull off the yellow checkered jacket as he did, and especially not with a boa adding a fabulous oomph to the outfit.
He cleaned up nice in his next look which was a black leather cropped jacket buttoned over a mint-green boa and plain black tapered pants. Everyone looks dapper in black, but Harry Styles blends grace, style and fine taste effortlessly to elevate the simplest outfits.
Both with the tweed, colors, and boa packed in one outfit, the eccentric British rock’n’roll look was on fleek!
Subversion with Styles
Subversion of traditions is not always an easy transition. The shift can be unnerving or disconcerting for most, but not when Styles does it the Gucci-way. Harry Lambert, Styles’ stylist views the artist’s collaboration with the designer brand as a dialogue with old traditions to set new trends in place.
Both Alessandro and Lambert have grown accustomed to the celebrity’s aesthetic and move away from the average fashion with natural ease to dress Styles for every event. As they say, change is crucial to keep the audience interested, and change is what we see in Styles appearance at every formal event.
